Introduction

Design is a purposeful activity – not an end in it self, but means for accomplishment. It is tool for change towards meaningful objectives.

Interior designing is not just an art of creating rooms and indoor areas attractive, comfortable and useful- but designing of each and every component and feature of a given interior space. The air is to gain optimum efficiency from the planning and to establish relation between human needs and environmental possibilities. Interior design is aptly a combination of ART, SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY and INTUTION.

Objectives

To make students thoroughly grounded in theory and practice of the subject matter.
To equip with the technical knowhow, skill and experience in an integrated manner necessary for the profession.
To provide sound background of practical experience in order to enable him to develop his own vision.
To encourage to acquire and ability to combine all technical aspects of the subject as means to use his creative ideas to fulfill the needs of the client.
To make conversant with modern material, construction specification and estimation required for the professional practice, supervision and execution of the interiors of any type.
To give adequate knowledge and experience of space, form, color, texture and develop and ability to utilize ideas and present different schemes through the medium of drawing and models.
